Iraqi Kurdish leaders have to take the PKK threat against Turkey seriously and should help Ankara eliminate this. As long as the PKK exists in the Kurdish mountains it remains a common problem for Turkey and the Iraqi Kurds.

So the “Republic” rallies which became a show of force for the secularists in Turkey have ended. The rally is Samsun was of course not as impressive as the huge rally in Izmir last week or the crowded affairs in Ankara and Istanbul but once again it showed that there is enthusiasm in every corner of the country for people to turn out and wave their flags declaring Turkey is secular and will remain secular.

It seems this government is really incapable of displaying its achievements in various fields.
For years we have been stressing over and over again that while we accuse other countries of supporting and sheltering the terrorist Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) we should be doing something ourselves at home to finish off the group.
